Rhett is a super dooper lovey smooshy face cutie pie!

One of my most favorite things lately is when Rhett, who is almost 8, runs out the door for school or playtime. He ALWAYS yells "Bye, Loveyamom!" super fast then slams the door without waiting to hear a reply. I think it is so sweet because it is like a little gift he gives to me that he doesn't even wait to get something back. A true gift. He is all boy and I love that he can still love his mother.

Yes, I am a blog stalker! Stealer, I meant stealer! Okay, I'm both.

A wonderful friend from my ward, whom I love and respect so much, went to the same Stake conference as I did. She either took notes or has a great memory because the following is what I found on her blog. I loved the thoughts on the temple from Elder Nielson and I want to have a name and place there as well. I just couldn't remember it well enough to write about it. I am learning that I am not so good with words sometimes. I think my brain has gone mushy from not using it enough. I was so thankful to Janet for what she had written and remembered that I stole it to put on my blog so I can also remember and commit myself to going on the second Tuesday of every month at 9:00. I am ashamed to admit it has been a long time since I have gone. I am so thankful for my ever faithful friends who continuously remind me what is true and what is right. I, too, want a name and a place in the temple. I am excited! Doing what is right, or trying to, feels good!

"In Stake Conference last Sunday, Elder Brent H. Nielsen talked to us about attending the temple. He is from Twin Falls and said that since the temple is in their backyard now, he and his wife, made a decision to go every week. He said that because they go to the same session every week, the temple workers know them by name. He encouraged us all to "have a name and place" of our own at the temple. We chose Saturday morning 6:00am session. Wouldn't you know, the very first week, Tate had to go camping with McCarty for scouts. So we went Friday morning instead.
We are committed to having a name and a place in the temple
."

I love Janet. She is a strength to the world.

"I hope that everyone gets to the temple on a regular basis. I hope your children over 12 years of age have the opportunity of going to the temple to be baptized for the dead. If we are a temple-going people, we will be a better people, we will be better fathers and husbands, we will be better wives and mothers. I know your lives are busy. I know that you have much to do. But I make you a promise that if you will go to the house of the Lord, you will be blessed, life will be better for you. Now, please, please, my beloved brethren and sisters, avail yourselves of the great opportunity to go to the Lord’s house and thereby partake of all of the marvelous blessings that are yours to be received there."

Did she just say that?

I am slightly obsessed with my adorable toddler as every mother should be. But she is the cutest thing I can hardly stand it. What makes it most exciting is that she can talk! She is saying words! WORDS! This will be the first time in eleven and a half years that we have had a toddler that could talk! I love my boys but they all had speech delays and with each one it was age 3 1/2 -4 before they could really talk in sentences. But our sweet girl can say shoes, mine, hot, hi and more. She will try to mimic everything you say. She is also understanding everything. She know where her nose is and if I say time to fix your hair she will run into the bathroom and pat her hair. It is so sweet and fun and not at all frustrating (for her or me) which had been my experience in the past with toddlers who were speech delayed. I love her. She brings joy to my heart.

Also did you see I added turtles, a spider, and a hamster to my blog! Who knew! If you click on them you can feed some of them! Also just so you know I typed this whole post with not one misspelling found by spell check. Impressive huh!Just don't check my grammar. Okay then I spell checked again and I spelled misspelling and grammar wrong. Darn.

Six kids, 2 hours of a church meeting in one room=Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Holy cow! I didn't know blogging was going to be so much fun! Isn't my blog so cute with all the "buttons" I have! We especially like the fish. If you put your mouse on them they will follow you. If you push on some of the "buttons" they will take you to different site. So far I have spent more time making my blog adorable than I have journaling!

Last night we went to Stake Conference Saturday meeting and today was stake conference. I am embarrassed to admit and realize that that Saturday night session just might have been the first one we have gone to since we have been married. How could we have been so foolish? It was a wonderful night. We have not been as dutiful as we should have been. Plus it was so GOOD! Both meetings were so wonderful and have inspired me to live a better life. Elder Nielson and his wife spoke. They both gave really great talks and raised six children. In her talk she said it is our job as parents to help our children not walk around with knots in their stomachs. Meaning help them make correct choices so they wont be sick from doing wrong. Or if they have done wrong, help them. But you have to be involved so you will know.
Our Stake President spoke. I love him. He is so soft and sweet and wisdomy. He told us last year:

DON'T DO DUMB!

Good Advice. Last year he gave goals to live by in our stake. They were:

1. Pray
2. Study Scriptures
3. Get out of debt
4. Eat dinner together
5. Have Family Home Evening

This stake conference he added:

Regular Temple Attendance

I have not been stalwart in doing all of these things. I have been downright neglectful. I have just been surviving raising my own six kids but I am pretty sure that is not an excuse. It has been hard though. But the baby is getting older and the beautiful fog of being busy every second with little people is lifting and I am recommitting to a new and better me!

Elder Nielson said if you are not doing all these things that you should be then Heavenly Father can only say -not literally of course- hope it works out for you. We won't be entitled to the promised blessings.

They were great meetings and I we are so blessed to have great people speak to us and teach us. The church is an amazing organization.

To blog or not to blog...

I have gone back and forth for quite a while now on whether or not to start a blog. I scrapbook quite a bit so our trips (yeah right)and events are well documented but I am sadly falling short in my personal journaling and daily things that may happen that I may want to remember. So I am going to start this blog as my journal and then I will make a send it in to have a book made out of it. I assume not EVERYTHING I will want to journal will be bloggable but we will see how it goes.

Hello, my old friend.

It's been about six months since I have seen your face. I decided today that I needed you again, back in my life. School is all but a mi...
