Anyone hiring?

Think what you want, but I just spent the best three bucks in my life.

A half hour of peace.

Nathan took Kate to the park and I can breathe deep. Literally. Sometimes (ha ha, who are we kidding) I let her watch TV but I can still never breathe deep because I know at any minute she will realize...."Hey! I am sitting still! What the chicken? Where is the mascara?" ...and the quiet will end. So I am grateful at moment for boy scouts. and the section which says Nathan needs to earn and save money which is why I paid him to go to the park with his siblings. Sweet short relief!

Anyway, I have really struggled with what my next step is. You know within the next few years if I remain babyless. Which, break and bruise my heart, is likely the case. Do I go back to school? Get a small part time job to give us a little extra funds? Stay home (yes, yes, please, please) and maintain the home and recover from the trauma of all these kids? What do I do?

I can really only think of a few things I want to do.

Write...no good ideas.

Nurse....TERRIFIED of killing someone. And the intensity of it. And going back to school. And maybe a little grossed out. And don't want to practice getting shots.

Work at the zoo...Doesn't everyone want to?

Maybe do something where I can type and organize.... would that be a secretary?

But last night I might have found my calling. Justine begged me to paint a turkey on her toe. What the chicken? A turkey? With nail polish?

But I couldn't say no. So I began to create. I planned the exact colors for the tail feathers. I practiced with tooth picks... (Justine listened to her ipod because I wouldn't let her watch my after 9:00pm TV show)....I prepped the toe (Eww, still grossed out over that one) and my new found talent just flowed from my body!

See my amazing work? Spectacular, eh? I knew you'd agree. Isn't is so darling that I have a daughter who paints her toes to holiday themes? Last month she did a spider web.

Appreciation for Husband , Sunday, the 41st

Ever so grateful to have a fatherly influence in the home.

Especially when some discipline (or fine tuning as Corey likes to call it) is needed.

Like yesterday. When I thought the two older boys were having an innocent little snow ball fight. But they were really throwing knives at each other....

It's okay though. They were "missing on purpose".

Deep Breath. weary. weariness. wearnesta.

Anything to make my boy happy.

I MADE Rhett's day today!

I got pulled over...again. Not for non drunk driving this time. For speeding. But the policeman was nice and let it go. But I got a ticket for not having proof of updated insurance. He said I could fix it by mailing in proof. Ugh.

But it thrilled Rhett. He was very excited over it. He wants to be a policeman. No matter how many times I try to brain wash him and tell him "When you are a dentist...." Blah Blah Blah...he still wants to be a policeman. Or a snow plow man.

Anyway, I just wish Rhett would not tell people I got a ticket for driving to slow!

That is embarrassing!

Khronicles of Kate

Kate's Mug Shot

Daddy caught her this time. It was on his watch as well so neither of them were very happy! It is always the same daughter's make up also! She doesn't hide it well enough!

Here are some more little beauties... We have like no markers in the house and yet she still manages to find one. I don't know what it is about coloring on her face that she finds so appealing. But she likes to do it I guess. She had colored in her nose and must have sucked on the marker as well. Funny little goober!

Courtesy of munchkinroni number 6, I spent my morning kissing frogs!

Kate: "Pet the frog"

I pet the frog

Kate: "Hug the frog"

I hug the frog

Kate: "Kiss the frog"

Of course, I kiss the frog.

Then I tell Kate to pet/hug/kiss the frog. And she does it. Little eyes batting away at the frog as she hugs this miniature little guy. She is the cutest frog hugger/kisser/petter I ever saw!

How can I resist Kate's cute little requests? Yesterday Dad was tattling on her for getting into Rhett's Halloween candy. Corey was calling Rhett and like a little runaway bandit she tells Corey, "shoosh! Quiet!"

One morning a year ago I opened my eyes to see two of these staring me down, perched on my pillow next to my sleeping eye balls. It was quite a little "good morning to you" Bo had greeted me with!

It is a lizard flash light pen...

Maybe all these interactions with fake reptiles explains how last year I had the worst athlete's foot ever! I am not ashamed to admit it. Okay, I really really really am but I feel it is my duty to share with the world my secret "reptilian type athlete's foot" weapon.

My athlete's foot got so weird and bad. My whole feet were like reptilian scales. I was so grossed out every time I looked at my feet or put on socks or took off sock or anytime in the world I came in contact with my own feet, which was often. You know, since they are attached to my body. I have never had athlete's feet before until just recently, after all these years of being married to someone who has athlete's foot on a rare occasion. But that person insist he has never had it before despite my very accurate memory on the subject. So I guess I will just have to say I don't know where I got it from... (even though I really do!)

Anyway, After trying many over the counter creams I finally went to the doctor who prescribed an over the counter cream. Oh. Hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the idea....didn't work.

So heeding my sister in law's advice I started using this crazy cream the sell at cal ranch. The thing about it that caught my eye was it said on the packaging to apply at night because you feet warm up and somehow the cream eats your dead skin.

Now, not only have I been plagues with this reptilian athlete's foot disease, I also have been genetically plagued with the driest grodyest feet you can ever imaging. I got that from my dad. It was worth it though, because I also got my gutsy driving from my dad. How unfair is it that Corey ( a guy!) has the most beautimous soft feet around? It is so rude.

But after using this flesh eating cream, I not only had the athlete's feet gone in a few weeks, I now bear the most softest feet a calloused feet person can have! I don't know what kind of witch magic is in here but there is something! And I can refer to witch magic because I just learned that one of my ancestors way far back was accused of being a witch and executed. Which could have included being hanged or burned at the stake! Is that not wild? And really really sad? And disturbing? What if she was just an innocent lady! She was a mother!

And... because I have a feet aversion I just put a little on the top of each foot and my feet rub it into each other. Than I don't have to touch anything grody....like feet.

Seriously, You must try it. Best 7 bucks you have ever spent on foot stuff. And I should know. I own a mouse sander just for my feet! Honest.

Appreciation for husband, Sunday, the 40th

I usually get into bed after Corey. My bed time routine takes longer than his I guess ( see bottom of post for why that is... *wink*). Once in bed I fall asleep in one minute flat and he stews in bed for about an hour. I am sort of a fussy sleeper. I can only sleep on my stomach, I must have my own flat pillow, otherwise I feel like I am suffocating in pillowness. Corey must have a ridiculously puffy pillow. I can't be hot, the bed must be made at the bottom and tucked in very tight,... And I can not have dry scratchy feet. I must have callous free feet or socks on. And I hate sleeping in socks.

Something I love about Corey though... he will be in bed first and I will lay down next to him and in one big swoosh he whips all three layers of our covers over me. It reminds me of one of my favorite children's books, where the mother owl swoops down with her gigantic owl wing covering her little owlets. I fell in love with owls after reading that book. Anyway, that big swoosh of the blankets means he loves me.

There has been occasions where he forgets this gesture, or he is asleep, or doesn't realize this is what he does,... and I have momentarily laid there, alone and coverless. Waiting for the wing of the owl sheets to cover me... but nothing happens. That is lonely.

Thankfully after this post, I suspect that won't happen so much.

Corey got his elk yesterday. Phew! Let the madness end!

Corey- 1991

And here is the truth as to why I go to bed later than Corey! (I don't know the author)

WHY I LOVE MOM

Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed."

She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.
Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning.

She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button.

She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.

She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry.

She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.

She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse.

Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.

Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed."
"I'm on my way," she said.

She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.

She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.

In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed."

And he did...without another thought.
Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women
live longer...?

CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL..... (and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!)

I thought that was funny. Isn't it the truth?

Secret to happiness...found here!

A family in our community lost their baby girl. This young mom is trying her best to sort out her new life without her daughter. She decided to do a big service project. Check here to see what it is all about!

http://patrickandashley.blogspot.com/2010/10/pay-it-forward.html

So I am so excited about next week because a few of my GNO friends and I have decided to get together and tie fleece blankets to donate to her cause. I had so much fun picking out fleece, albeit the store I went to had slim pickings. And then I went to my friend's house and saw the cute fleece she had picked and I just got super excited.

It feels dang good to do things for other people.

I know the secret to happiness. It is two fold. Be grateful, forget yourself and give. Is that three fold? I don't know but those are the keys to happiness.

Here is the fleece I picked. I don't know why, I know it is a little crazy looking, but I liked it (the back will be a gray to match some of the Peace symbols). I LOVED the warm tones to it. I am really into brown (see m&m post). Plus I though it might be good for a dad. So many things are made girlish, I just like this one.

And even if the Peace symbol is trendy and hippieish, peace is still welcome and a good thing to be had.

Hello, my old friend.

It's been about six months since I have seen your face. I decided today that I needed you again, back in my life. School is all but a mi...
