Life is good!

Kassidy will be home in like FOUR MONTHS! It's so weird! It feels like it has flown by and it is so weird not to see your own kid for 18 months! She is doing SO well. I am so glad that she went because she has grown SO much within herself. She is tearing it up in the mission field right now.

When she was home she would CONSTANTLY be taking selfies. So when she sent these it felt like old times.

When Kassidy was at our house she made us a safe place for the Jehovah Witnesses to visit. And it has continued. They stop by occasionally and read scripture with us and it all began because Kassidy was kind to them and made friends with them. I believe Jehovah Witnesses are required certain hours of proselyting. I think that would be so scary! So I like it that they can feel safe at our home.

So they shared this with me the other day...

Check it out. It is these DARLING little lessons done with white board drawings. They had ones on peer pressure, or what is a real friend, etc. They are great!

I have a meme love affair.

This one makes my soul happy.

Something else makes my soul happy.

Corey's Uncle passed away and today was the funeral. Corey's cousin use to work at the funeral home. They let her drive her daddy to be buried in the hearse. Be still my soul. So lovely.

In case you need to know how to feed a bearded dragon...I tell you.

I LOVE horror movies....but I cannot watch them anymore. It really didn't take me long to realize it just WAS NOT worth the torture of being terrified during the movie and after. You guys, like literal pain, I would be so so scared. The kids get embarrassed to go to movies with me because I WILL scream if something startles me and they get mortified. I think about three years ago Corey convinced me to go see some scary movie with harry Potter in it. But he wasn't Harry. :( and I was terrified from the minute I got in and sick the whole time.

I grew UP on POLTERGIEST!!!! What the???? Who the????? Why the ???

I am still baffled by how that happened...

So I do like to watch scary shows during the day with the lights on while working on other activities. Unless they are too creepy. Then I can't.

Anyway, all that to share this....

Bahahahahha  bahahahahha.

Come on, that was funny.

So today I am going to teach you the easiest way to feed you Bearded Dragon which is 80 % vegetarian, you know. Ours tries to bite us because it just wouldn't be right for us to have a pet that couldn't actually be NICE (I'm bitter over Brody)!! But we are committed to him for some lamo reason.

So I googled all the yummy things they are suppose to eat which are like fruits and vegetables and different types and I chop them up in this chopper thing I have. We also mix his calcium and vitamins in.....

And Kate spooned them into ice cube trays...

And we freeze them....and then we get them out of the trays and put them in containers and keep them in the freezer and every day we give him a cube on a paper plate. He likes it. And it smells pretty yummy.

This isn't him but this is what a bearded dragon looks like. When he tries to bite us we can see clear down his throat. We still hold him. He isn't the boss of us!

Last week we adopted these little darlings so that Rhett and Bo could each have a pet. They are little sweeties with the cutest faces. I had these kinds of lizards when Corey and I were dating and first married. Lizards are my favorite.

Bo is just not that into pets. It amuses me. He is nervous I believe. But he was very glad that he got his own lizard. These cuties just eat crickets. They don't have names yet.

I keep trying to teach Justine this lesson. I am awful at it myself but am learning. I can't tell you the amounts of things I did that I didn't want to do all because I couldn't' tell people no. And to be able to say no and not have to say why? That is important. It really is.

And I do this EVERY. TIME.

Hahahahahha

I forgot to tell you the funniest thing....

So when we were singing Happy Birthday to Bo I had locked Brody out back. He DOES NOT like that at all. And he kept scratching at the door like nails on a chalk board.

So we start singing to Bo.... "Happy Birthday to you" and JUST LIKE MAGIC Brody says "bark bark"! We roared! It was so perfect. So on with the song, "Happy Birthday to you," and AGAIN "bark bark" and I mean it was perfect for the whole song just like Brody was saying cha cha or clapping in between our song to the most perfect rhythm ever. We LOVED it and Bo loved his special song too.

Today was the best day of kids going back to school ever.

I feel so guilty about that but it was TIME to go back!

The kids totally had a great day on Monday. They made pet rocks and had a little sale out front. I bought some and I made Nathan buy some and Kate went and asked the neighbor to buy some and how do you say no to that!

They went to the gas station and ate fried chicken while they sat at their table waiting for people to come. Seriously so fun!

Not to mention all the fun of making them also!

AND all the fun glue gunning a enormous rock tower! That was hours of fun!

And another day they made a race car road out the front door! That was fun too. The rest of the summer they fought and stared at the iPad. NO LIE.

Only 8 more cakes.

Bo only gets 8 more special cakes from his mom. And then it is over. Holy crud! It's SO SAD. Despite all my CONSTANT complaining (I know you thought it) about my burned outness it is still sad to lose my kids to growinguphood.

So I think this might be the fifth Pokémon cake of some sort I have made. And it is the third just for Bo. This one was so simple thanks to some tips from my friend, Kirsten! And thankfully Bo is really happy with simple cakes. He usually chooses them simple. This is Charmander and  I hope you can se that the coolness is the candles are him blowing fire because he is a dragon.

I made the inside of the cake orange with food coloring but I did have guilt because of red dye 40 panic.

For the love of all that is holy. WHY DO MY KIDS STILL KEEP GETTING OUT OF BED??????!!!! WHY CAN"T THEY JSUT GO TO SLEEP????

Anyways, so BO turned ten.

My friend came to the party and the next day at lunch she told me how cute he was. And it meant a lot to me. That she saw that in him. Because he really was so precious. He loved and appreciated every present he received and he loved his birthday. And it was cute.

Somehow....he ended up with more presents then EVER before. I think in part it is because the big kids work and wanted to buy him a present. In fact, Bo's present was the very first thing Nathan bought with his very first paycheck. And he was GERNEROUS. It was really sweet. And Bo was SO EXCITED over it.

He made this darling sign...

 My dad....

rolled up money!

Grandpa Dale with his arm around his wife (grandma Carolyn) would couldn't come.

My gift..... (a doodle book)

Corey's gift. (Camo) Haha. A good balance between us, right?

Nathan's gift....a LARGE set of Pokémon cards. That is a big deal guys. Haha

I LOVE when she dresses all Punky Brewsterish. Makes me proud.

Dad took Bo out for his birthday breakfast. Sweet.

And.....

I like cats! I can't help it!

With six children we just have milestones happening all over the place!

This morning Nathan passed the driving portion of his drivers test and officially got his license!!!! Also, I made him pay for all of it. Do you guys do that?

A little secret? He could have had it months ago. But he didn't want to call the lady and make an appointment for his test. And I refused to do it for him. So the paperwork stayed on the fridge for over a month. And everytime I drove him somewhere I'd say, "too bad you won't just make that phone call, huh?"

Haha. He finally got to it. Perfect timing also because he has a job at ARBYS!!!!! And get this! He gets a free dinner every time he works. Total heaven for a teenage boy. It is so awesome (to him and me) that he is earning money now. Phew.

And I totally want this bag. It cracks me up.

And this girl....who has worked her butt off all summer (10 hour days) decided she needed a car. With five drivers in our home it was hard to argue! This will also enable her to work her job while at college if she chooses to (She is taking 16 credits). So she and Corey have been test driving and shopping and she decided on this cute car. It is a beautiful color of gray.

I got to drive home with her from the dealership! Love her. She is a dollie.

Hello, my old friend.

It's been about six months since I have seen your face. I decided today that I needed you again, back in my life. School is all but a mi...
